This white fulgurite lightning sand glass tube is from Florida. It is secured in an ornamental glass domed display case with attractive walnut base. Inside the glass tube is a bouquet that includes a rose, wildflowers, leaves with yellow buds accent. A great "inspire me" gift.
Made famous by the Hollywood movie "Sweet Home, Alabama," lightning sand glass figurine sculptures have created a huge spark in interest for this unique geologically made lightning fused natural glass.
Created by temperatures hotter than the surface of the sun, the lightning bolt careens to the ground, striking it hard, and weaving its way down through the sand to create these hollow glass tubes. Each is different and they each have varying grain sizes, color and layering of glass types.
Finished size with dome and stand: 4 1/2" H X 3 1/4" circular walnut finished base.
